Packing Instructions - For transporting guitars by road or air |
1) Loosen strings Strings should be loosened a little to take the tension off the instrument during transport. Don’t loosen them too much, just a couple of turns of the tuner buttons.
2) Remove internal battery If it is an acoustic guitar and it has a battery inside remove this and put it in the case pocket. This is only necessary if the battery is accessed through the soundhole.
3) Secure in case A
hard case is highly recommended when transporting a guitar. If the case is not
original make sure the instrument doesn’t move much in the case, if it does
use some soft cotton or old t-shirts to reduce movement. If a case is not available a strong cardboard carton with lots of bubble wrap and padding is the next best thing. Cartons are often available second hand from a freindly music store.

4) Wrap the case A large cardboard box is the best way to safely wrap a guitar case. Second hand boxes can sometimes be obtained from a friendly guitar shop. If a box is not available wrapping the case in bubblewrap offers almost as much protection. Wrap the case in at least two layers of bubble wrap over every surface. Use packing tape to seal up all joins in the bubble wrap. If fragile tape is available wrap some of this around the package.

5) Address the package Print out our address label, cut in half, fill in your address and attach to each side of the case with clear tape.
